Hey, its been a while since ive done a proper update, sorry guys! (and girls. And whatever poor sods read this blog!) This is basically from a few weeks ago, when me and Alex Gosbee hired a camper and drove up the coast. In the mean time ive just really been looking for jobs, and trying to get some gigs booked. Last thursday I did meet up with my mate Louise, Luke, Tara, and thier mates Danni and Luke, where we went out around a few bars in town, rocking the joint!
DAY 1- Act 1 / Scene 1 :p
We set off from the Juicy camper place, around the corner from my house, around 1pm. This was because the camper was "still being fixed" at 930am when we went to pick it up. A bit annoying, and also a bit ominous...it should have, for instance, probably started warning lights flashing in our heads on what was to come...but it didnt!
So anyways, eventually we get the camper van. We then drive over to the neighbours studio to see the neighbours set, but cant get to it. Bugger. Then we try and find erinsburgh high, but cant either, because Erinsburgh is a fictional suburb, and it could be anywhere. Bugger I. Still, no matter. We then drove over to Pin Oak Crescent (Ramsey st) for the 2nd time. This time they wernt filming, so we had a wonder around. took a few photos outside of some of the ramsey st houses, and then carried on our journey in the 32c heat..Ramsey st is MUCH smaller in real life. Im suprised they have enough room to act AND have all the cameras etc there!
Our First Stop was Wilsons Prom, which is a stupidly beautiful national park about 250k east of Melbourne, as we came to it, it had just started Storming, so there was torrential rain (where we found out the wipers just about 25% less work when they were turned on, as opposed to when you just left them off), lightning flashing across the sky, and annoyingly a leak that came from the top right hand part of the windscreen on the camper (Sttrrriiikke 2 jucy!). This didnt annoy me because id given it over to Gosbee to drive, but he wasnt happy! :P (heh heh) We went out the next day and got some tape to stick over the top of it. There. Job done!
After that, we just grabbed a few beers, settled down in the back of the camper, and were thankful we wernt in tents! :P
Day 2 - Sat 14th November
Today was a bit of a write off. It absolutely hammered it down all day. This wouldnt be so much of a problem, but we were in a national park, so the only things to do and see within 40k were outdoors, and involved at least an hours walk. Still, we took a short walk down to the beach, walked back. Changed into some dry clothes, grabbed a few beers and had a bbq under a shelter. If anything, it reminded me of back home. Driving rain, Wind blowing sideways, and theres us barbequeing in plastic macs pretending the weather was amazing!
OR...to sum it all up. DROUGHT MY A*$@!!!
Day 3 - Sun 15 November.
This day was better. It was overcast, but not raining. And alot warmer too. Making the most of this, we walked for an hour to the next cove, through some woodland to Squeaky beach, although the beach didnt squeak because it was too wet. :( (Its Quartz sand, so in the dry it squeaks underfoot). The woodland was recovering from a massive bushfire a few years ago, so there were loads of spooky looking burnt out trees etc, and when we got to squeaky beach, the scenary was stunning as we were coming down off of the cliffs!
We then chilled out on the beach for a bit, played some frizbee, had a beer on the beach (im going to market the 'liquid picnic' idea properly when i get back home i think! :P). Then we walked for another 30mins to a lookout on top of the cliffs, scambled up on this massive boulder and took in the scenary! It looked out over both bays. Very spectacular!
Then we had an early night to leave early the next morning...OR SO I THOUGHT! *BOM BOM BOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!*
Anyways, Im going to have to leave it there for a bit...ive just been called in for a job interview, so back to the bat-cave for quick shave and a shower methinks!
Part 2 to follow!

What a week!
Its been a few weeks so ill give you guys an update! Alots happened!
On the tuesday after my birthday, then i went to see a really really good band (well, singer song-writer) called passenger at the northcote social club, with paul. He was really really good as usual, and his album, which i bought, is superb.
Then, the impulsive few weeks began. The friday afterwards, a couple of good mates over here, Dave and Nick were going back to england, to work on fitting the electrics on a cruise ship sailing from Greece to Africa. Lucky bar-stewards! So i went over to thier flat, had a few beers, went down to the elephant and wheelbarrow for a few more.
Then, when i got back, they were like 'well, were moving out. Why dont you move into our flat?' Its $145 dollars per week, including the 1st $50 of all bills. And i thought, why not. The hostel was becomming ridiculously expensive. So I did that.
Its been nothing but bloody trouble, but Laura and Una and Joel, my housemates, are really cool, and its just up the road. But basically, i moved in officially (after sleeping on the sofa for a few days) on tuesday night. On wednesday morning, when i went to work, I discovered the landlady [Mila the rent-goblin] had given me the wrong keys. So i couldnt get out of the flat.
A good start.
Then on the Thursday morning, I got to my car at 730am, and discovered someone had drawn a masive c**k down the side of it, with f**k you, which was really fun. So now work have (/are probably?) taking the car off of me. Greeat. Luckily ive only got a few weeks left there...Its mostly come off, but i really didnt need that.
Friday i couldnt get into the carpark, because my beeper thing didnt work.
Saturday I couldnt get OUT of the carpark, because my beeper thing doesnt work..Saturday night, i FINALLY got a new beeper!
Then today, ive just been down the beach, with a couple of mates, Carolina is leaving today, so I was just saying my goodbyes too. Also, im playing at a 'save the planet' where all the lights / aircon / power is being turned off at the hostel tonight, and they want me to play my acoustic for an hour, which should be pretty good...
Also, on other news, Alex Gosbee is coming to visit from sometime around next tuesday, so me and him are going to be going on a bit of a road-trip. Im not sure doing what though. I havent really given in much thought with all the things screwing up this week...
AND, in my next impulsive move, Im starting to plan my next footsteps! a couple of mates, Elsa and Clare, and Jenni infact, are going to do some farmwork for 3-4 weeks before xmas. Which sounds pretty good, and aso, as i need the farmwork for my 2nd year visa, then Im probably going to jump on-board and tag along with them for a bit!
So yes. An incredibly eventful week. I could have done without 2/3 of it, but the farmworking should be awesome! And doesnt leave alot of a gap in between Obriens finishing. AND i should still be back in melbourne for xmas! Awesome!

Having a G'day! down the Great Ocean Road. (The best birthday ever!)
Ive just come back from one of the hardest days of work in my life. It was the hardest day of work, because i really didnt want to be there, because the great ocean road was soooo incredible!
But, well. Ill tell you what. Why dont i try and put things in order. Lets start with almost the most important day of the year, Friday 8th October. I had quite a good day at work, made all the better by work getting me a $50 gift voucher for a bunch of shops, and a card. I was well impressed...Australia is awesome.
For your information, not that you care, but theres $19 left on it. Its gone towards a new memory card for my camera, an american football for my drunken olympics, and a frizbee. Oh, and some food for this week..im not going to lie. The rest of the money is probably going to end up going on a massive steak, and bucket loads of beer. (well, wine. well. Goon)
Also, incidentally, did you know that Goon is the aboriginal word for 'pillow' because they would drink all 4 litres of the stuff, and then blow up the empty wine bag, and use it as a pillow.
Then i met up with paul and phoebe, and watched a band, and had a few beers round the corner at this awesome pub called the local. Then i came home at midnight, to try and get an early night, because we were all leaving for the great ocean road in the morning. Eventually, at 3am, I finally stopped people giving me beers for my birthday, and made a hasty retreat. At which time Gosbee rang me, and we chatted for an hour. So basically, I had an awesome night, but ended up with 3 hours sleep.
It didnt bother me though, i was up and ready 30mins late, but pretty much on time for 8am. A few of the others were a bit late getting up, but it was all looking good. Apart from we ended up losing my mate clare, whod gone out for HER birthday in town, and had ended up god knows where. So we didnt end up leaving till 11am in the end. It was good though..
Basically, on the 1st day, we drove up the coast, stopped off at a few places, one of them being the lighthouse from 'Round the Twist', filling a childhood ambition! :P Although, the only strange thing happening there was me...the weather was starting to look a bit so-so. still, never mind! :P
Then after that we drove up to Apollo bay to camp out for the night, and PAAARTAY!. The only minor blib being when Jenny, who was driving the other car, had it in 2nd gear all the way on automatic, and had the poor car creaking at the seams, with smoke pouring off of it! :P
But yes, apollo bay was amazing. Quite frankly, we have all just had the best weekend. When we got there, then it was quite late, and it was starting to shower, so the drunken olympics sort of went to the wind..We ended up all crammed into this 10ftx6ft barbeque shelter thing, with tunes playing over this ipod speaker dock thing, having a massive party (and a barbeque. the local shop sold loads of cheap-ish fresh local foods, so that was also incredible.) Then after we'd drank our beercoats on, then we all went down to the beach, and carried on. We did try and start a fire, but the beach was too wet, so that failed.
Lol, so on the face of it it sounds awful, but it wasnt. I (/we all) was (/were) with such a good group of people, it didnt actually matter.
Then the next day we got up, had the most amazing fry up ever...this cafe was gorgeous. And called Nauti-gals (which pretty much sold me on the idea of eating there tell the truth! :P) Then we drove up the coast, saw the 12 apostles, and then lazed around on a beach at loch ard gorge all day, before driving back tired and happy around 7ish!
It was a blinding birthday, Its a pity it doesnt really come across when you write it, but yes. Incredible.

Finally some good bloody weather!!
Woohoo!! Theres actually been some really nice days here! At last!! The last weekend was amazing. I didnt get up to much...I went out with paul and pheobe to a Thai Resteraunt which was pretty cool. Really nice food..Unfortunately Pheobe didnt feel great, so they all went home, leaving my only other option for my 'quiet friday night' as 'going to a house party' Which was cheap, awesome, but did demolish me for the saturday (i ended up going to bed at 5am., Oops! :P).
Then Saturday I felt a LITTLE bit under the weather, but went and watched the AFL Grand final rematch outside at Luna Park. Im a little bit annoyed, because not only did we lose (St Kilda), last week, when we drew (YES!) i NEARLY put a $50 bet on it being a draw. The ONLY reason why i didnt was because the TAB website didnt accept my EFTPOS card, and i thought 'sod it. im not a gambler...i cant be bothered'. Which turned out to be quite an expensive turn of concience, because it was 34-1. So i would have been $1700 dollars richer. A**!**!*!*!!!!!
Other exciting things to happen were:
I managed to get myself locked in a toilet at work. Nature called out on the road, so i asked the women who's car i was repairing if she would mind if i used the toilet. 'not a problem' she says 'its the door at the end of the hall'. So off I go, slam the door, do my business, turn around to open the door after washing my hands, and in the smallest writing, on the smallest bit of paper, was a sign saying 'DONT CLOSE THE DOOR. THE HANDLE DOESNT WORK'.
Cheers. You useless bint. Dont mention anything important like that, will you?
Ha, In the end, i had to use the Swiss Army Card that my Aunt and Uncle Brought me for xmas (Cheers jean and seng! You're officially life savers. If it wasnt for that gift id still be stuck in a loo. Probably ferral by now.) and a credit card to force the catch open through a gap in the door, jam it in, and work myself free. Lol...Ray mears, eat your heart out! :P
Apart from that ive just been enjoying the nice weather we're having more and more often now. Awesomeness.
The only other things happening are next weekend, a group of us from the hostel are probably hiring a car out between a big group of us, and heading off down the ocean road for my birthday (9th Oct) and my mate Clare's birthday (8th Oct, making her ALMOST as awesome as I Am!). The advantages being its cheap, we're going to get a load of tents, and just camp out on a beach somewhere with a few beers, and play drunken olympics (Wheelbarrow racing, Drunken Frizbee, Drunken Football, Drunken cricket etc), have a Barbie on the beach, and just enjoy ourselves. Its going to be awesome!
Thats the rough plan anyways...im in the process of organising it. Its going to be pretty fun though. and cheap. and different. and its something we all want to do, with a great group of people. So all in all, its looking to be a pretty awesome weekend!

*wondering where the month went*
Hey! I cant believe its been a month since I last posted. Its a testimony to how much its been same old, same old. Im just trying (and failing miserably) to get a bit of cash together for when my work finishes at the end of november, and I can finally haul my a*** over to a farm to get my 2nd year visa sorted.
I did end up busking for an hour last sunday, in a really shite spot, making a massive $5.50, buying me a steak for dinner, then I went over to the tim Burton exibition at the ACMI museum, which was really really good. That man has some Awesome art-work, and cartoons. Well worth seeing...Spent a couple of hours going round that. That was pretty damn awesome.
Then Thursday I went out to the Shanghai Dumpling house again. Had as many dumplings as i can eat...I didnt need to eat for a day. Afterwards I went over for a few beers at the Carlton hotel nearby. Its really cool in there, then came home for work (damn work! Gets in the way of everything! :P)
Oh, I also saw Scott Pilgrim Vs The World a few weeks ago. That, second only to Zombieland, is the funniest film ever written. Everyone has to go andsee it! Absoluitely awesome!
Yesterday I did my 1st chip repair on a building. Which was as exciting as it sounds, then went and watched the football (AFL) semi-finals round pauls house. Had an awesome bbq, some posh goon, and had a good chat. That was real cool. Then got up today, had my second ever breakfast bbq (the other was at work, and is an outstanding idea!) , which was equally cool. Now im probably going to head over into town and try a bit more busking so i can buy myself another $5 steak for dinner.
Then im going to go and spent the last $20 of the money ive put aside that i can spend this week on...well. God knows what. Its a shame the weather here is still shite. Id quite like to do a tour of the ocean road, but its still 16-17c. Bloody melbournian weather! Roll on summer! And a change of scenary methinks!

SYYYYDDDDNEY! (and F@&*@ i missed the train)
Sydney was indeed awesome...after busking, i just chilled out, had a few beers and caught up with loads of people that id met whilst i was here the first time! It was really good to see everyone again...I did end up drinking quite alot of Goon though. For the first, and quite probably the last time for another 5months. that stuff is evil.
So essentially, I woke up yesterday morning with the biggest hangover in the world. Well, its not really a hangover. Goon gives you something thats the closest thing to being clinically dead, without actually killing you. Its horrible. So I wake up, and need to do something, so i decide to get the bus to Coogee beach, then walk down to Bondi Beach, along the coast..
It was really really good. It was a beautiful day, I had a bit of a wonder. In true me fashion i walked for an hour in the wrong direction before realising, and walking all the way back again...there are some spectacular views along that walk though, so i didnt really care. It also cleared my head like nobodys business...
Then yesterday evening, I met up with a few more friends and this girl id met on the coach on the way down here, and managed to get her number. That was pretty cool. We just went to this real cool pub called the courthouse, then onto Kellys pub for a drink (because the bloody courthouse closed at 10pm on a sunday. I mean, What??!) but I ended up getting back early for my train this morning, but talking to 3am. Then not waking up.
So now ive missed my train by one minuite, and am back at the hostel again until later tonight. Nice one! :P
Lol. The Saga Continues..... :P Still, its another day off work. You've got to look on the brightside! :P

SYYYYYYDNEEYY!! (Briefly) And a catch up on the last 2 weeks!
I cant believe i havent updated this thing for 2 weeks! Shows how quickly the time is going!
I Saw 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll'. It was absolutely awesome! An amazing biography film. Really Interesting, Really funny. Well worth watching. I saw the biography film about the Runaways later too, but that was a steaming pile of...dirty laundry. Not good...Well, certainly not compared to the life of Mr Ian Dury.. :P
The next week I didnt get up to an awful lot, except I went to see a really really Cool band called Whitley on the friday with Paul and Phoebe..They were also bloody awsome! Although they did take AAAAGES getting ready, so i had another late finish, early morning for work the next day. But yes. He started off as a folk set, then got a full band on and played...well, sort of Indie, but more rocky, and with a sideorder of folk. It was really good...Id reccomend checking them out!
Apart from that, the weekend was pretty uneventful...I went to visit my Friend Anna-Marie in hospital, as shed got an infected leg from somewhere, which had turned into Cellulitous. Lol, it was only on the saturday night, when someone was talking and mentioned her name, and i was like 'oh yeah, hows she doing? Wheres she travelling now? Havent seen her in a good few weeks!' when they politely informed me that shed been hospitalised, poor girl!
Last Thursday, I did a chip repair on a Ferrari, which was awesome. I also booked a ticket up to Sydney for this weekend. I spent 12hours on a coach from yesterday at 8pm - 8am this morning, which almost sucked, but i DID manage to get this real nice italian girls number, (she does effects for short films apparantly) AND score a free coffee! Get in! :P On monday i get to spend 9hrs on a train. See what rabbit i can pull out of the hat for that one eh? :P
I FINALLY have my guitar in Tow though, at last! And its a really really nice one! 197-something Yamaha (apparantly!), but it sounds awesome...its got a really nice projection and sound to it! And at 130quid, its a bargain. could have done with it 5months ago though, but never mind!
Its also made me my 1st money in busking. Im now offically $28-50 richer. Who wants me to buy them an island? :P The Yaghts'll come next week, when ive changed the loose shrapnel into Gold Bullion. Until then its going to buy the weekends food, a weekend all you can eat train pass, and a cheap tub o'Goon for tonight i think! :P
