New Years 2010

Now, before i start, im going to give a bit of a disclaimer, because as i write this, im STILL off my tree. So theres quite a good chance this is going to go horribly wrong, but you know what they say. Strike whilst the Iron is hot.

Im not entirely sure this is why that saying was invented, or in any way the moral that it is trying to imply. But damn it, im drunk still, so going to use it anyways! :P

Right, so reverse back to yesterday. Its 40c, unbroken sunshine, bit windy, but absolutely blinding. Ive got all my stuff sorted, but there still isnt a clear plan about new years. So i do what I feel any self respecting brit would do. Made a vow that the beach, and all who sail in her, are mine.

So after a few drinks at the hostel, chilling, testing the water, I finally find a group of mates who are going down the beach. This suits me perfectly, so i grab a $10 bottle of goon, and a $6 bottle of passion pop for champagne for midnight (yes, it really is as bad as it sounds.), go round their house, and head down the beach.

Also, ive heard that the beach is dry on new years eve, so i cunningly bring my guitar along, and just stick all the alchaol in my guitar case. Problem bloody solved.

So i get down the beach, pass these group of people, and theyre like 'Wow! Are you busking?' so i said 'Well, no, im just carrying the alcahol in the case, im just heading down to watch the fireworks on the beach'. At which point they said 'look. Heres $20, play us 5 songs. Entertain me'

Well, i didnt need telling twice! :P I sat down, played a few songs (Wonderwall, Mr brightside, Creep, Better Man, and Elderly Woman i seem to remember), chatted away. They were a really cool group of people. Of course, by this time id completely lost my mates, but i didnt really care.

It turned out to be a good theme for the night. People just kept throwing money at me, and i wasnt even trying. Id just play mustang sally, and Mr Brightside over and over. I ended up the night $40 up, and that was after a pint or two in this bar, and a mcdonalds.

They went home again, but then another bloke who id met in this pub ages ago, with a mate of mine, and had ended up buying me beer all night for playing guitar then too gave me some Jager Bombs, Then i lost him, but found another group of mates up the beach.

Sat down with them, saw the fireworks at Christmas eve. Got a bit more money from busking, went back to a party round thier house, and that was basically that. Oh, Via Busking in Mcdonalds, and chatting up women there in the queue.

So as a summary, I wake up. Some women stole my Flip Flops, I stole some other flip flops that didnt fit, Gave them to another drunk woman, so im a set of footwear down. Ive got my little fingernail on my left hand painted red (Dont ask. Im sure i thought i was a part of some exclusive club yesterday! :) ) My guitar is now round my friends house, covered in Goon because the bag was leaking. My hat is round another friends house, because. Well, i dont even know why. Im sure i probably had no fecking reason.

Ive had pizza and a beer today for breakfast (at 1pm). And now im back over the edge and drunk again. So im responsibly not sobering up until tommorrow.

Its nice when you dont pay for a bloody thing isnt it?

Sunday 26 December 2010

Christmas 2011.

On the downside, I still have no bloody money, although after much ringing, shouting, and complaining, work were like 'oh. yeah, we owe you a weeks worth of pay dont we?'. Yes. Yes you do. *gives ex-boss a backhanded slap*

Still, on the upside Xmas was really really awesome. Christmas eve I had just about enough cash left over after busking and getting food, for a bottle of aldi's finest $2.50 wine. So i went out into St Kilda to do a bit more busking on xmas eve, and ran into a couple of mates from the hostel I used to stay at, who i havent seen in AAAGES!

Obviously we caught up, and they grabbed me a few pints, as long as I kept playing cheesy hits on the guitar, so that was really good. After that, I went over to Louise, Tara, and lukes place, the other side of the city. We stayed there, drank the rest of the wine, and then went out into town, where luke and Dara (another mate) kindly grabbed me a few more beers.

It was really good. This bar is called E Fifty Five, and you wouldnt know it was there, but its got loads of old, comfy couches in, and old TVS, and has a bit of a rough / seedy vibe. But in a good way. So yes, a very good lead in to xmas...

So Christmas. Christmas was MENTAL.

Xmas day, woke up, went round Zara and everyones house. They were to be our partners in crime for the assualt on St Kilda Beach for the day. It was great. we had a few drinks round their house, then went to the beach.

Theres a video on my facebook, but we came across a barbie-doll massacre, which appealed to my black sense of humour no end! So a good start. We then went to the beach, set up and started drinking and partying.

The barbeques were a slight washout. I cant remember who started them originally, but they just threw the firelighters on top and left them, so unsuprisingly, it didnt work. I did get one going, but by that time, everyone was moaning they were hungry, so we moved to this little park, with the public barbeques. There was this group of people whod gone out and got a little plastic xmas tree, and decorated it with beer cans. I thought this was awesome, and added a bit of a christmas vibe to a day, and was half way through complimenting the guys, when my mate Chads mates, came up with this massive 6-7ft tree! They'd found it at the side of the road, next to two shopping trolleys, so YOINK! we had that one.

Lol, decorated it with anything we could find, including this dead crab that another couple of mates who id met having a barbie a few weeks ago had found. Lol. Im not sure it'll ever catch on, but surely we get points for originality? :P

THEN after that, I tried my hand at cricket, using one of the dead crabs as a ball, got chatting to this canadian bird. Everyone else walked back to the beach, but us two hung around, where a group of french guys were playing bongo-drums and digeridoos. I think dead crab is an aphrodisiac, because me and this canadian were getting along like a house on fire, just kicking back and enjoying the vibes.

Then after a while, went back down the beach, met up with the other guys, a load of randoms wanted to hear a few songs on the guitar (yes, i take it EVERYWHERE. You never know when you might be able to use it to break the ice / blag free stuff! :P).

Then I rang up Home, and also spoke to my mate Dave (peers), Jess, and his family. That was really nice, good to hear everyone again! I did manage to lose the canadian bird in the meantime, but never mind. It didnt matter, because then another group of mates (Elaine, Neil, Don, and his gf) came down, and I hung out with them and had a good craic on the beach. I think theyd taken a little bit more than just beer and cheap wine though, but id managed to get myself on the same level with cheap goon by that point, so it didnt matter!

Then after another few hours, we dragged the xmas tree which wed put in the sand over to this group of people trying to start a fire, and set fire to the thing, and chatted well into the morning. Then about 1am I finally gave up, and went to bed, getting in about 130am. Forgetting that, the next day i had to be up at 8am for the Cricket.

BOXING DAY.

Now i really dont have any money, id left most of the alcahol id scraped together on the beach, and...well, Id had enough tell the truth, so It was a sober day for me. Pretty damn good though, Me, Paul Welland, and a load of his mates brought tickets to the boxing day test months ago.

It was really really good. My 1st cricket match, and wed run australia out for 98 by the afternoon tea break, and thats WITH rain stopping play for an hour or so earlier (we all went down this pub round the corner). So yes, Saw England field, and Saw them bat, and saw the aussies get owned. After that though, and the last few days i was completely demolished. I just went back, watched Titanic on TV (That film goes on for bloody ever. I mean, seriously, did they need to put in all that rubbish before the boat actually sinking?? Pah. If i had the energy i would have got up to change the channel. But i didnt.

And now here I am. The money situations stupid now, but i cant get any more money until work pay me, so i can get a sodding train ticket from this place to do some farm work. Ill give it another 2 days, and then ill go round the account managers house, and kick him in the nuts i think. Or i might just do it anyways. Im done with melbourne now.

So yes. A very very good christmas indeed!

(T)IIIIIIITS CHRISTMAS!!

Hey, just a pre-christmas catch up with everyone! Its been a bit quiet lately, because ive been seriously poor still. I rectified this by getting a job with an outbound call centre for a bit, but unfortunately, i ignored my finely tuned pikey radar, and worked with them for a week, before realising that i was working for a bunch of pikey, money grabbing, robbing bar-stewards.

It was an outbound call centre, I was going to stick at it for a few weeks, but got into a bit of an argument with the boss on how shite the training was, and i couldnt sell, if i didnt actually really know what it was im selling. So he let me go. Still, made about $600 in pay, which wasnt that bad. They said id get it in a week, then they said 'oh no, actually, its two weeks'. Now two weeks and a day have passed, and i still dont have my sodding money...Which is nice over xmas! Should have seen it coming.

Its fairly annoying, because that was my xmas money, and i was also going to book myself a ticket to Mildurra to do some farmwork with it, but obviously, if i dont have the money, then i cant do that yet *sigh*.

Saying that though, its not all been bad. Last weekend was pretty fun. Everyone in the house has gone off to sydney for xmas / new years, and Joel my roommate isnt even coming back..hes off to newzealand, and then going home!

Because of that, we all had a proper Christmas roast dinner, with turkey, stuffing, roast potatos sprinkled in Parmasan cheese (fecking gorgeous!) and cauliflour cheese (really fecking gorgeous, specially considering i dont like cauliflour!) and the works. Although we had passion pop instead of wine, to give it the backpacker touch! It was really good. After that we had a game of charades / pictionary on this blackboard that me and gosbee stole a few weeks ago, when he was over. That was really fun. Youll have to see some of the pictures. Im waiting for my 'Timberlake - Sexy back' charade to come up on facebook. it was a work of *coughs* art. :P

Then after that, I played for an hour at a gig for earth hour, and got fifty bucks and a crate of beer, which was better than a kick in the teeth. ran into a friend id met up in sydney a while ago, and lost touch with, so that was also cool. Ill probably catch up with her later..

Oh, and the night before, everyone in the house was going to go down the casino, so (probably rather stupidly consdiering the financial situation) I went there too. Just took $20...made $20, lost $35, but never mind. I hadnt been to this one yet, and had heard it was a really nice place to go out, so i thought id give it a go. It wasnt a bad night out, but i think that was more the company than anything else. Its just a casino at the end of the day.

I think im only saying that, because i didnt win $2'000'000! :P

This weekend, obviously funds depending, a load of mates are going for a meal tonight at a resteraunt, and then having a bbq on the beach tommorrow. Ill definately be going to the bbq, but i think i might give the resteraunt a miss. Cook myself a staple meal of Tuna, pasta, and onion instead! :P mmm...

Oh, and boxing day, ive got the tickets to the ashes with Paul Welland, his gf Phoebe, and a load of his mates, so that should be really good. Hopefully the good weather'll hold. theres talk of rain, which would be bloody annoying!

Sunday 5 December 2010

LAAAST NIGHT,,,

Well, I slept actually. But the two nights before were a bit manic, and free!

On friday I was in town just doing a bit of busking, when a friend of mine (Elaine) who i hadnt seen in ages rang me, and asked if i wanted to go for a drink. This place was only round the corner, so i thought 'why not?'

Got there, got the cheapest $4 schooner of beer i could, then nurtured it, chatted away. That was all good, It was really nice to see her again. Then, as i was leaving, this really cool bunch of irish saw my guitar which id brought in, and said 'ah, can you play ous a sang?' (yes. Thats how bad my irish accent REALLY is'). so i agreed.

They then proceeded to buy me beer ALL night. I was absolutely hammered. So drunk in fact, i put my glasses somewhere safe when i walked in, and STILL cant find them. Which is fun. Im having to use sunglasses at the mo, which are fun in the 30c heat. and unbroken sunshine in the daytime. AS SOON as it gets to night, I cant see a bloody thing!

So yes. Saturday, i woke up, felt like death warmed up, but it was 33c, so i dragged myself out of bed, went down to the beach, did a bit more busking (ish. What i was actually doing was playing guitar, staring at all the amazingly good looking, pretty much naked women, and not giving a damn if i got paid or not! :P), then a bloke id met randomly on the beach ages ago, whod got me drunk for playing guitar then, walked past, recognised me, and then dragged me (yes. thats right, DRAGGED kicking and screaming! :p) to a BBQ, where I got fed MORE BEER...

So that was real nice. there was masses of people, and loads of guitarists. We were all having a jam into the night...twas great!

On other news, quickly because i have 3 mins left on my computer, My carwash job fell through. the blokes an idiot, and kept calling me up, then changing his mind, Im hearing about another 2 jobs by thursday, and ive got an interview for a call centre tommorrow at 12pm.

So yes. Hopefeully ill get one of those jobs otherwise im buggered money-wise. But never mind! Something'll turn up!

Thursday 2 December 2010

(The week before we went on our road trip)

I realised that I didnt say anything about the week before, when Gosbee actually arrived. We did loads of stuff. Well, I was working at that point, so from my point of view it'll be pretty abridged, but it was a good week..

We went to the Melbourne Cup Horse races on the Tuesday, which is so big over here, its actually a public holiday...Didnt get anything back though. Not even on 'My best friends called 'Al' which was a SUREFIRE win with a name like that, and at 45-1, i just cant see how i lost! :P Lol, no we didnt collect anything that day unfortunately, but id never been to the races before, so it was a good experience. Weird as well, because it chucked it down with rain, but then the sun came out, and within 10mins everything was dry again (you should have seen the steam coming off the tarmac!)

Then we went out a few times around St Kilda, saw some bands down a wicked pub called the Local. The only place in this city that sells proper beer! We also went on the neighbours night, and saw Dr Karl, and a load of other people from Neighbours...tell the truth i didnt have a clue who they were, but it was cool anyways. We also got the tram over to Pin Oak Crescent, which is ramsey st, but they were filming and wouldnt let us look...

So yes, an abdridged version of that week...

To bring you all back to the present, like I say, im getting myself a casual job to get myself up to Xmas, and also sorting out farm work. Ive been in Melbourne for ages now, and its a nice city. Its just time to move on!

Stotty and Gosbee attack the last bastions of the East Coast II

DAY 4 - Monday 15th

So we were up at 8am, ready to hit the road. That way we could stop somewhere nice at lunch, see a few places, and make our way leisurely towards Sydney, when Bang. The curse of Juicy properly hits us.

The bloody van wont start. The Batterys Screwed, it wont even jump start...

Theres something on the keyring that says 'TAKE YOUR PHOTO WITH YOUR JUICY AND SEND IT TO xxxxx'. Me and Gosbee were thinking that we should take a picture of us two, the RACV repair man with the camper, and its bonnett open, with our fingers up to Jucy, and send THAT Bar-Steward in! Unfortunately, we were so relieved when he finally got there about 1pm and got us going that we completely forgot, which is a shame. I keep getting the feeling that i let a moment of Comedy Genius slip through my hands there.. :p

PART 2 - SO! With a pretty eventful start to the day, we should have known it would have been a pretty eventful end. The plan was to get to Malucca, on the NSW border, Via Marlo for lunch. We only got as far as Marlo in the end though. Well, a bit furthur, we drove along this tourist loop off the main highway to Nelsons point (possibly) looking for a decent place to park for the night.

So we're driving along quite happily, when suddenly this 18-19 year old girl just jumps out in front of us. So we stop, only to find another 9 18-19 year old girls* just around the corner, around a brand new Honda CRV, which in turn had half a tree still in it.
(* Dear Diary, Jackpot).

It was a pretty lucky escape as it pans out, which is why im going to allow myself to laugh and point, but i suppose it could easily have been alot worse! These girls had seen a turnoff to a campsite, not slowed down at all, and just slammed the car around the corner, but it was a sandy bit of road with all the rain the area had been having, so the car had just slid straight into a tree.

This was quite lucky, because about a foot either side of said tree was a massively solid tree trunk which would have completely mashed the car up, and a massively ironic 'STOP!' sign, which in all honesty, would probably have mashed the girls up if they'd hit it, and it had bent over the bonnet...

We drove along a bit, because the campsite did look a bit like something from Wolf Creek, but there wasnt anything better, and it did have the advantage of 10 hot 18 year olds there, in need of comforting, but by the time we got there 30mins later we lost them.

Bugger. Then we had another BBQ, and promptly lost a day.

DAY 5 - Tuesday 6th.

Then we set off to this place called duncan sands, which was a couple of hundred K outside of sydney, via Malucca. Malucca was awesome actually, it was a shame that Jucy had messed us around, because it was a real nice place to stop. We had some lunch there in the end..then had a cup of tea at Tamatha sands i think it was called, which was also an amazing beach, THAT SQUEAKED! AND was sunny!

But yes, Duncan sands, we only found because wed been driving for a silly amount of time, and i just followed an old sign down this tiny road. It turned out to be a campsite with a bar, a pool, our own private toilets, and electric (although this was pointless, as we couldnt use it.) It was only $20 a night, which is cheap for over here..specially for all of that! I mean, really we could easily have got away with not paying a cent, but we're far too bloody honest! :)

There were hundred of Kangaroos there (we even saw one with a Joey in the pouch), Hundreds of Possums. We saw a Pod of Dolphins in the beach, which was RIGHT next door. A 1min walk. and an incredible beach at that...there were schools of Puffer fish. The works!

At this point, we somehow realised that we'd somehow lost a day, and so we stopped for 2 days in the end, taking in the sights, doing a bit of swimming etc. Twas tres cool. And the barmaid there was hot! :P

DAY 6 -

We drove on up to Canberra today...It was okay there. The town itself had no atmosphere, it was really strange. I did buy an awesome leather hat with a crocodile leather band, and 5 Croc teeth on it, which you'll probably see in ALL of my pictures from now on! :P On top of that, we stopped off at the War Memorial / museum..THAT was really really good, and stopped off briefly at the national art gallery, although to be honest, i prefer the gallery of NSW in Sydney. Thats out of the national gallery in canberra, and the one out in Melbourne.

So we stopped there for a day, and then drove on up to Sydney, back to Gosbee's mate, Raj's house. We stopped there overnight, had a pizza and a beer for dinner, and then i had to be up at silly o'clock in the morning to drive Gosbee back to the airport.

DAY 7 - Saturday. So after the airport, i went over to Palm Beach in Sydney, had some breakfast there...Sunbathed all morning, played some guitar. Swam in the sea a bit. Then in the afternoon i drove over to some lookout that was recommended to me, went for a bit of a walk in the bush, drove back to Newtown, where i met up with my mates from the old hostel, got drunk, and that was pretty much that.

Day 8 was me recovering, Day 9-10 was me driving back to Melbourne Via the Hume Highway. I stopped off in some town with a Giant Submarine in the middle of it (Cool, but not as cool as the giant Sheep id seen at Goulton), and that was pretty much that..

The last few weeks ive been trying my hand at busking, whilst waiting for a few job apps to come back, and ive been trying to find work on farms too. The weathers been pretty pitiful this week, but im sure it will improve!

Stotty and Gosbee attack the last bastions of the East Coast!

Hey, its been a while since ive done a proper update, sorry guys! (and girls. And whatever poor sods read this blog!) This is basically from a few weeks ago, when me and Alex Gosbee hired a camper and drove up the coast. In the mean time ive just really been looking for jobs, and trying to get some gigs booked. Last thursday I did meet up with my mate Louise, Luke, Tara, and thier mates Danni and Luke, where we went out around a few bars in town, rocking the joint!

DAY 1- Act 1 / Scene 1 :p

We set off from the Juicy camper place, around the corner from my house, around 1pm. This was because the camper was "still being fixed" at 930am when we went to pick it up. A bit annoying, and also a bit ominous...it should have, for instance, probably started warning lights flashing in our heads on what was to come...but it didnt!

So anyways, eventually we get the camper van. We then drive over to the neighbours studio to see the neighbours set, but cant get to it. Bugger. Then we try and find erinsburgh high, but cant either, because Erinsburgh is a fictional suburb, and it could be anywhere. Bugger I. Still, no matter. We then drove over to Pin Oak Crescent (Ramsey st) for the 2nd time. This time they wernt filming, so we had a wonder around. took a few photos outside of some of the ramsey st houses, and then carried on our journey in the 32c heat..Ramsey st is MUCH smaller in real life. Im suprised they have enough room to act AND have all the cameras etc there!

Our First Stop was Wilsons Prom, which is a stupidly beautiful national park about 250k east of Melbourne, as we came to it, it had just started Storming, so there was torrential rain (where we found out the wipers just about 25% less work when they were turned on, as opposed to when you just left them off), lightning flashing across the sky, and annoyingly a leak that came from the top right hand part of the windscreen on the camper (Sttrrriiikke 2 jucy!). This didnt annoy me because id given it over to Gosbee to drive, but he wasnt happy! :P (heh heh) We went out the next day and got some tape to stick over the top of it. There. Job done!

After that, we just grabbed a few beers, settled down in the back of the camper, and were thankful we wernt in tents! :P

Day 2 - Sat 14th November

Today was a bit of a write off. It absolutely hammered it down all day. This wouldnt be so much of a problem, but we were in a national park, so the only things to do and see within 40k were outdoors, and involved at least an hours walk. Still, we took a short walk down to the beach, walked back. Changed into some dry clothes, grabbed a few beers and had a bbq under a shelter. If anything, it reminded me of back home. Driving rain, Wind blowing sideways, and theres us barbequeing in plastic macs pretending the weather was amazing!

OR...to sum it all up. DROUGHT MY A*$@!!!

Day 3 - Sun 15 November.

This day was better. It was overcast, but not raining. And alot warmer too. Making the most of this, we walked for an hour to the next cove, through some woodland to Squeaky beach, although the beach didnt squeak because it was too wet. :( (Its Quartz sand, so in the dry it squeaks underfoot). The woodland was recovering from a massive bushfire a few years ago, so there were loads of spooky looking burnt out trees etc, and when we got to squeaky beach, the scenary was stunning as we were coming down off of the cliffs!

We then chilled out on the beach for a bit, played some frizbee, had a beer on the beach (im going to market the 'liquid picnic' idea properly when i get back home i think! :P). Then we walked for another 30mins to a lookout on top of the cliffs, scambled up on this massive boulder and took in the scenary! It looked out over both bays. Very spectacular!

Then we had an early night to leave early the next morning...OR SO I THOUGHT! *BOM BOM BOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!*

Anyways, Im going to have to leave it there for a bit...ive just been called in for a job interview, so back to the bat-cave for quick shave and a shower methinks!

Part 2 to follow!

Saturday 23 October 2010

What a week!

Its been a few weeks so ill give you guys an update! Alots happened!

On the tuesday after my birthday, then i went to see a really really good band (well, singer song-writer) called passenger at the northcote social club, with paul. He was really really good as usual, and his album, which i bought, is superb.

Then, the impulsive few weeks began. The friday afterwards, a couple of good mates over here, Dave and Nick were going back to england, to work on fitting the electrics on a cruise ship sailing from Greece to Africa. Lucky bar-stewards! So i went over to thier flat, had a few beers, went down to the elephant and wheelbarrow for a few more.

Then, when i got back, they were like 'well, were moving out. Why dont you move into our flat?' Its $145 dollars per week, including the 1st $50 of all bills. And i thought, why not. The hostel was becomming ridiculously expensive. So I did that.

Its been nothing but bloody trouble, but Laura and Una and Joel, my housemates, are really cool, and its just up the road. But basically, i moved in officially (after sleeping on the sofa for a few days) on tuesday night. On wednesday morning, when i went to work, I discovered the landlady [Mila the rent-goblin] had given me the wrong keys. So i couldnt get out of the flat.

A good start.

Then on the Thursday morning, I got to my car at 730am, and discovered someone had drawn a masive c**k down the side of it, with f**k you, which was really fun. So now work have (/are probably?) taking the car off of me. Greeat. Luckily ive only got a few weeks left there...Its mostly come off, but i really didnt need that.

Friday i couldnt get into the carpark, because my beeper thing didnt work.

Saturday I couldnt get OUT of the carpark, because my beeper thing doesnt work..Saturday night, i FINALLY got a new beeper!

Then today, ive just been down the beach, with a couple of mates, Carolina is leaving today, so I was just saying my goodbyes too. Also, im playing at a 'save the planet' where all the lights / aircon / power is being turned off at the hostel tonight, and they want me to play my acoustic for an hour, which should be pretty good...

Also, on other news, Alex Gosbee is coming to visit from sometime around next tuesday, so me and him are going to be going on a bit of a road-trip. Im not sure doing what though. I havent really given in much thought with all the things screwing up this week...

AND, in my next impulsive move, Im starting to plan my next footsteps! a couple of mates, Elsa and Clare, and Jenni infact, are going to do some farmwork for 3-4 weeks before xmas. Which sounds pretty good, and aso, as i need the farmwork for my 2nd year visa, then Im probably going to jump on-board and tag along with them for a bit!

So yes. An incredibly eventful week. I could have done without 2/3 of it, but the farmworking should be awesome! And doesnt leave alot of a gap in between Obriens finishing. AND i should still be back in melbourne for xmas! Awesome!

Monday 11 October 2010

Having a G'day! down the Great Ocean Road. (The best birthday ever!)

Ive just come back from one of the hardest days of work in my life. It was the hardest day of work, because i really didnt want to be there, because the great ocean road was soooo incredible!

But, well. Ill tell you what. Why dont i try and put things in order. Lets start with almost the most important day of the year, Friday 8th October. I had quite a good day at work, made all the better by work getting me a $50 gift voucher for a bunch of shops, and a card. I was well impressed...Australia is awesome.

For your information, not that you care, but theres $19 left on it. Its gone towards a new memory card for my camera, an american football for my drunken olympics, and a frizbee. Oh, and some food for this week..im not going to lie. The rest of the money is probably going to end up going on a massive steak, and bucket loads of beer. (well, wine. well. Goon)

Also, incidentally, did you know that Goon is the aboriginal word for 'pillow' because they would drink all 4 litres of the stuff, and then blow up the empty wine bag, and use it as a pillow.

Then i met up with paul and phoebe, and watched a band, and had a few beers round the corner at this awesome pub called the local. Then i came home at midnight, to try and get an early night, because we were all leaving for the great ocean road in the morning. Eventually, at 3am, I finally stopped people giving me beers for my birthday, and made a hasty retreat. At which time Gosbee rang me, and we chatted for an hour. So basically, I had an awesome night, but ended up with 3 hours sleep.

It didnt bother me though, i was up and ready 30mins late, but pretty much on time for 8am. A few of the others were a bit late getting up, but it was all looking good. Apart from we ended up losing my mate clare, whod gone out for HER birthday in town, and had ended up god knows where. So we didnt end up leaving till 11am in the end. It was good though..

Basically, on the 1st day, we drove up the coast, stopped off at a few places, one of them being the lighthouse from 'Round the Twist', filling a childhood ambition! :P Although, the only strange thing happening there was me...the weather was starting to look a bit so-so. still, never mind! :P

Then after that we drove up to Apollo bay to camp out for the night, and PAAARTAY!. The only minor blib being when Jenny, who was driving the other car, had it in 2nd gear all the way on automatic, and had the poor car creaking at the seams, with smoke pouring off of it! :P

But yes, apollo bay was amazing. Quite frankly, we have all just had the best weekend. When we got there, then it was quite late, and it was starting to shower, so the drunken olympics sort of went to the wind..We ended up all crammed into this 10ftx6ft barbeque shelter thing, with tunes playing over this ipod speaker dock thing, having a massive party (and a barbeque. the local shop sold loads of cheap-ish fresh local foods, so that was also incredible.) Then after we'd drank our beercoats on, then we all went down to the beach, and carried on. We did try and start a fire, but the beach was too wet, so that failed.

Lol, so on the face of it it sounds awful, but it wasnt. I (/we all) was (/were) with such a good group of people, it didnt actually matter.

Then the next day we got up, had the most amazing fry up ever...this cafe was gorgeous. And called Nauti-gals (which pretty much sold me on the idea of eating there tell the truth! :P) Then we drove up the coast, saw the 12 apostles, and then lazed around on a beach at loch ard gorge all day, before driving back tired and happy around 7ish!

It was a blinding birthday, Its a pity it doesnt really come across when you write it, but yes. Incredible.

Finally some good bloody weather!!

Woohoo!! Theres actually been some really nice days here! At last!! The last weekend was amazing. I didnt get up to much...I went out with paul and pheobe to a Thai Resteraunt which was pretty cool. Really nice food..Unfortunately Pheobe didnt feel great, so they all went home, leaving my only other option for my 'quiet friday night' as 'going to a house party' Which was cheap, awesome, but did demolish me for the saturday (i ended up going to bed at 5am., Oops! :P).

Then Saturday I felt a LITTLE bit under the weather, but went and watched the AFL Grand final rematch outside at Luna Park. Im a little bit annoyed, because not only did we lose (St Kilda), last week, when we drew (YES!) i NEARLY put a $50 bet on it being a draw. The ONLY reason why i didnt was because the TAB website didnt accept my EFTPOS card, and i thought 'sod it. im not a gambler...i cant be bothered'. Which turned out to be quite an expensive turn of concience, because it was 34-1. So i would have been $1700 dollars richer. A**!**!*!*!!!!!

Other exciting things to happen were:

I managed to get myself locked in a toilet at work. Nature called out on the road, so i asked the women who's car i was repairing if she would mind if i used the toilet. 'not a problem' she says 'its the door at the end of the hall'. So off I go, slam the door, do my business, turn around to open the door after washing my hands, and in the smallest writing, on the smallest bit of paper, was a sign saying 'DONT CLOSE THE DOOR. THE HANDLE DOESNT WORK'.

Cheers. You useless bint. Dont mention anything important like that, will you?

Ha, In the end, i had to use the Swiss Army Card that my Aunt and Uncle Brought me for xmas (Cheers jean and seng! You're officially life savers. If it wasnt for that gift id still be stuck in a loo. Probably ferral by now.) and a credit card to force the catch open through a gap in the door, jam it in, and work myself free. Lol...Ray mears, eat your heart out! :P

Apart from that ive just been enjoying the nice weather we're having more and more often now. Awesomeness.

The only other things happening are next weekend, a group of us from the hostel are probably hiring a car out between a big group of us, and heading off down the ocean road for my birthday (9th Oct) and my mate Clare's birthday (8th Oct, making her ALMOST as awesome as I Am!). The advantages being its cheap, we're going to get a load of tents, and just camp out on a beach somewhere with a few beers, and play drunken olympics (Wheelbarrow racing, Drunken Frizbee, Drunken Football, Drunken cricket etc), have a Barbie on the beach, and just enjoy ourselves. Its going to be awesome!

Thats the rough plan anyways...im in the process of organising it. Its going to be pretty fun though. and cheap. and different. and its something we all want to do, with a great group of people. So all in all, its looking to be a pretty awesome weekend!

*wondering where the month went*

Hey! I cant believe its been a month since I last posted. Its a testimony to how much its been same old, same old. Im just trying (and failing miserably) to get a bit of cash together for when my work finishes at the end of november, and I can finally haul my a*** over to a farm to get my 2nd year visa sorted.

I did end up busking for an hour last sunday, in a really shite spot, making a massive $5.50, buying me a steak for dinner, then I went over to the tim Burton exibition at the ACMI museum, which was really really good. That man has some Awesome art-work, and cartoons. Well worth seeing...Spent a couple of hours going round that. That was pretty damn awesome.

Then Thursday I went out to the Shanghai Dumpling house again. Had as many dumplings as i can eat...I didnt need to eat for a day. Afterwards I went over for a few beers at the Carlton hotel nearby. Its really cool in there, then came home for work (damn work! Gets in the way of everything! :P)

Oh, I also saw Scott Pilgrim Vs The World a few weeks ago. That, second only to Zombieland, is the funniest film ever written. Everyone has to go andsee it! Absoluitely awesome!

Yesterday I did my 1st chip repair on a building. Which was as exciting as it sounds, then went and watched the football (AFL) semi-finals round pauls house. Had an awesome bbq, some posh goon, and had a good chat. That was real cool. Then got up today, had my second ever breakfast bbq (the other was at work, and is an outstanding idea!) , which was equally cool. Now im probably going to head over into town and try a bit more busking so i can buy myself another $5 steak for dinner.

Then im going to go and spent the last $20 of the money ive put aside that i can spend this week on...well. God knows what. Its a shame the weather here is still shite. Id quite like to do a tour of the ocean road, but its still 16-17c. Bloody melbournian weather! Roll on summer! And a change of scenary methinks!

SYYYYDDDDNEY! (and F@&*@ i missed the train)

Sydney was indeed awesome...after busking, i just chilled out, had a few beers and caught up with loads of people that id met whilst i was here the first time! It was really good to see everyone again...I did end up drinking quite alot of Goon though. For the first, and quite probably the last time for another 5months. that stuff is evil.

So essentially, I woke up yesterday morning with the biggest hangover in the world. Well, its not really a hangover. Goon gives you something thats the closest thing to being clinically dead, without actually killing you. Its horrible. So I wake up, and need to do something, so i decide to get the bus to Coogee beach, then walk down to Bondi Beach, along the coast..

It was really really good. It was a beautiful day, I had a bit of a wonder. In true me fashion i walked for an hour in the wrong direction before realising, and walking all the way back again...there are some spectacular views along that walk though, so i didnt really care. It also cleared my head like nobodys business...

Then yesterday evening, I met up with a few more friends and this girl id met on the coach on the way down here, and managed to get her number. That was pretty cool. We just went to this real cool pub called the courthouse, then onto Kellys pub for a drink (because the bloody courthouse closed at 10pm on a sunday. I mean, What??!) but I ended up getting back early for my train this morning, but talking to 3am. Then not waking up.

So now ive missed my train by one minuite, and am back at the hostel again until later tonight. Nice one! :P

Lol. The Saga Continues..... :P Still, its another day off work. You've got to look on the brightside! :P

Friday 20 August 2010

SYYYYYYDNEEYY!! (Briefly) And a catch up on the last 2 weeks!

I cant believe i havent updated this thing for 2 weeks! Shows how quickly the time is going!

I Saw 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll'. It was absolutely awesome! An amazing biography film. Really Interesting, Really funny. Well worth watching. I saw the biography film about the Runaways later too, but that was a steaming pile of...dirty laundry. Not good...Well, certainly not compared to the life of Mr Ian Dury.. :P

The next week I didnt get up to an awful lot, except I went to see a really really Cool band called Whitley on the friday with Paul and Phoebe..They were also bloody awsome! Although they did take AAAAGES getting ready, so i had another late finish, early morning for work the next day. But yes. He started off as a folk set, then got a full band on and played...well, sort of Indie, but more rocky, and with a sideorder of folk. It was really good...Id reccomend checking them out!

Apart from that, the weekend was pretty uneventful...I went to visit my Friend Anna-Marie in hospital, as shed got an infected leg from somewhere, which had turned into Cellulitous. Lol, it was only on the saturday night, when someone was talking and mentioned her name, and i was like 'oh yeah, hows she doing? Wheres she travelling now? Havent seen her in a good few weeks!' when they politely informed me that shed been hospitalised, poor girl!

Last Thursday, I did a chip repair on a Ferrari, which was awesome. I also booked a ticket up to Sydney for this weekend. I spent 12hours on a coach from yesterday at 8pm - 8am this morning, which almost sucked, but i DID manage to get this real nice italian girls number, (she does effects for short films apparantly) AND score a free coffee! Get in! :P On monday i get to spend 9hrs on a train. See what rabbit i can pull out of the hat for that one eh? :P

I FINALLY have my guitar in Tow though, at last! And its a really really nice one! 197-something Yamaha (apparantly!), but it sounds awesome...its got a really nice projection and sound to it! And at 130quid, its a bargain. could have done with it 5months ago though, but never mind!

Its also made me my 1st money in busking. Im now offically $28-50 richer. Who wants me to buy them an island? :P The Yaghts'll come next week, when ive changed the loose shrapnel into Gold Bullion. Until then its going to buy the weekends food, a weekend all you can eat train pass, and a cheap tub o'Goon for tonight i think! :P

Friday 6 August 2010

A whole tray of steak for $9? Get in!

Things that ive been up to this week - Mainly being knackered! I managed to win a ticket to the Melbourne Film Festival though, and im going to go and see 'Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll', which is the biograpy about Ian Dury (Drury??), of the Ian Dury and the Blockheads fame. Theres a group of people heading down from the hostel, and it sounds pretty good!

At any rate, I like that 'Hit me with a rhythm stick' song, and their bound to play it at least once! :P So that should be good. Today ive just been wondering around Victoria market, getting myself some bargains. A tray of steak for nine bucks, a pinapple for 1.80. That sort of thing. Ive now eaten so much bloody pineapple, my mouth has gone all tingley...

mmm. Tingely mouth.

Yesterday I went out for a few drinks with my friend Lara. We went and had a glass of mulled wine in this place called the gypsie bar, which was just starting some reggie night, then we had pizza at this restauraunt, then went on to this bar, which was pretty cool. There was a bottle shop (off license) right next door, and you could buy drinks in there, then drink them next door in the actual bar / pub. We chose a nice Pinot Noir, i think it was (get me being the wine buff! Its because beers so sodding expensive over here, its all i drink now!), paid $7 each for it, and had a really nice bottle of wine that lasted for the rest of the evening. The rock / metal band playing was a bit shite, but the company was good, so thats all that matters!

Apart from that. Well. Last weekend, Id gone out for a few quiet beers down the local pub before work, and then headed out to this really cool bar in town for literally a drink because it sounded really cool, and i was with a good group of people. It had a really cool pool table, with a zebra skin print on the cloth, instead of the green felt normally used. It was impossible to get an angle. Even for a Pool Champion such as me!. So I went there, Had a pint. Had a game of pool. Got the tram home for work the next day. It broke down didnt it. So i ended up having to walk back AGAIN!

So i got in at 130am again. Then I was up at 630am for work. At work, Everyone gave me coffee (strong, 2 sugars). So i was already bouncing off the walls. Then I got back, and headed over to the nightcat, which is this soul club that has a live band playing until about 2-3ish. So went there, had a few drinks, was understandably pretty tired, so i just sank two or three monster energy drinks (well, they call them mother over here).

At which point that was it. Got back to the hostel, was up all night talking, playing the guitar, chatting etc, and just didnt sleep until about midnight the day after. Not the most healthy weekend, but it was a bloody good one.

Oh, and in other important news, IVE FOUND A REAL PUB, THAT SERVES REAL BEER, PROPERLY!! Warm Stouts, Ales, etc. Its got an open fire place, comfy seats, and not only that, Monday they have a comedy night, and Wed, Sat, and Sun they have live music, so ill have to check it out.

Thursday 29 July 2010

LAAAST NIGHT, dOO DOO...

I went out for all you can eat chinese dumplings for $12 dollars yesterday, after finding $20. brought a $6 bottle of wine to wash it down with.. :P Got quite pissed (but obv. not that drunk, as i had work the next morning :( ). Went to another cool bar, with stuffed animals on the walls. Like Emus, Giraffes, Roos, that sort of thing. Cool place. Had a few more pints. Went back to get back to the hostel earlyish (11pm) for work.
Got on the tram. Fell asleep. Im supposed to get off at stop 34. I woke up at 52, and had to walk ALL the way back. So i got in at bloody 1am, and i had to be up at 630am for work.

The word i think im looking for is 'retard'

Tuesday 27 July 2010

ERmm....Karl Kenneddy?? Im really scraping the bottle of the barrel of australian sayings now! :P

Hey, Just a quick update...They've slowed down a bit because im working mon-sat at the moment to get some money together, which has severely limited my fun potential. The week before last I ended up going over the Espy Bar on the saturday night for a few beers, and watched an Irish Punk band, which was pretty cool. A bit like the Dropkick Murphy's. But better.

Lol, it was an interesting night. I had quite a lot of a bottle of Southern Comfort before i went out, so i wouldnt have to buy any drinks. Which sort of worked. I only had one drink whilst I was at the espy, but dropped / knocked over about 4 whilst dancing. So i ended up spending $30 anyways..bugger!

Then on the sunday I got up, and went over to Melbourne Museum...That place is really really cool. Its quite interactive, a bit like the science museum for adults. There was a cool part of it, called Body and Soul, and it was all about the mind, dreams, illusions, the effects of drugs on the mind...loads of stuff. They had these booths with people talking about various problems. There was one quite cool thing, where you see things as coulours. So the Letter 'H' for example would be dark blue, whilst a high C on a guitar would be a...i dont know, fiery orange. So that was pretty good..

Then the last weekend just gone, I went out for a few drinks in the Cherry rock bar, whilst watching an ACDC tribute band (its their 30th anniversary). Got quite a few shots etc brought for me, so i was pretty drunk. Walked the 6-7miles back from town to my hostel, but only sobered up halfway, which. Well. Didnt help. I was like 'what the hell am i doing here? where am i? And how the hell did I get here?.

So that was cool. Then the next day (after spending a large proportion of it in bed recovering from the mother of all hangovers) it was Christmas in July, where the hostel cooked everyone a massive roast dinner, and there was free nibbles, and mulled wine, and beer, and pinatas. It was really good. The roast was DEFINATELY what i needed.

Then yesterday I did the open Mic night again, and won not only an hour on the internet for free (for playing), NOT ONLY a Boost Chocolate bar. NOT! ONLY! free nibbles and punch. But also a ticket for the melbourne film festival. Which is pretty damn cool. Im just about to see what im going to go and see...

So yes, a pretty good week. or two. :)

Thursday 15 July 2010

Flaming Galahs! (Im going to need some help thinking up some more neighbourisms here people!)

I just realised, I havent updated this in bloody ages!

Last week, on the Saturday, I met two great people from the hostel...had quite a lazy day, but did go and see the penguins...erm. Well. Having a bit of an orgy actually. Its thier mating season. That was something special...easily the best sight so far in Australia (In fact, sod it. I may as well come home now, Ive seen everything I need). They were only little penguins. But theyre awesome...and they DO sound a bit like pingu, so i was very impressed with that.

That was cool. Then in the evening, I went out with some of the people from my last hostel, who are travelling up the East coast. We started off in a strip club (quite a nice strip club. Better so because it was free), because one of the girls who was leaving worked there, and wanted to say goodbye to her mates there (SHHHCCCCAAAWIIING! JACKPOT!), then we went off to a bar that played Soul and 60's RnB. Tres cool. Then We ended up going back to the hostel, watching Finding Nemo (Yes. I AM 10 years old, thank you!), then I crashed out there for the night..

The next morning I went down to Victoria Markets to get some cheap meat and veg for the week (Seriously, that place is awesome. they practically GIVE stuff away) then we went and had a BBQ with Paul Welland and Phoebe (his Girlfriend) and their mates.

It was quite funny. We were all shopping in the market, and Phobe was like 'can you get some sausages and patties (thats burgers) for the barbie?' to which paul, the happy, go lucky, eager to please boyfriend goes 'sure honey!' and runs off. So me and Phoebe finish our breakfasts, Paul comes back with a bit of a sheepish look on his face'

Pa: 'erm. I MAY have made an impulse buy.'
Ph: What have you done? You havent overspent have you?
Pa: Erm. Not exactly. I just might have brought $30 of steak. But i had do. It was for a tray full. And there were these other men looking at it, and i just had to go for it! It'll keep!

Paul, the legend, had only found 30lbs of Prime Rumpsteak for nothing. I mean, these steaks were each 2-3" thick, and the size of a bbq. They were amazing! So we ate some of them on the bbq. And some sasuages. And (for woody) NO couscous. :( But nothings perfect.

Then we finished off the beers and watched some footy in the afternoon with his mates, then just chilled out, and went back.

This week has been a bit less interesting. Ive been in bed with the man-flu. Monday i didnt feel great, Tuesday I felt awful. I basically spent the entire day in bed. Yesterday, I felt equally awful, but thought 'i NEED to sort this out!'

So i ordered myself a Chilli Con Carne Pizza (Yes. It IS as awesome as it sounds. Massively unhealthy, but soooooo nice! 3 types of meat, Capsicoms (thats peppers to you guys!), JAlapenos, and 6 different types of grease...laaaaverly!. Then i washed it down with some free mulled wine (Gorgeous! It was a winterwonderland night yesterday, which was good), and some fruitcake, and went to bed at 9pm.

When I woke up at 6am I felt like a new man. Ive got a Cough, and a bit of a runny nose, but my flu has been cured. So that makes it 1-0 to my alternative medicine diet. (Booze and pizza). Oh, and I cooked myself quite possibly the nicest shepherds pie on monday. It was awesome. So apart from being declared clinically dead from tues onwards, its been a pretty good week!

Ill keep you posted!

Friday 2 July 2010

Fair Dinkums

So Ive decided to do my next installment before i forget everything Ive done!

Last week was pretty cool...Ive been mostly living off the hostel again! On the tuesday I did the open mic night again, this time with my wonderful assistant Lara, and sang a few songs, got some free punch, and another hour on the computers, which was pretty cool!

Then on the wednesday It was a Free Cheese and wine night, which was awesome! I mean, seriously, I need to go back in time, find the man who invented cheese, and kiss him. :P There was some pretty good wine too. ALSO, I managed to win a neighbours night ($40) down the local pub, by thinking up the best descriptive word for the wine I was drinking.

I decided to go with flambiguious'. (V. Meaning "to win a free night out, whilst watching Karl Kennedy and Paul Whatshisname from neighbours perform at the pub round the corner, instead of actually paying for anything! :P)

so yes, that should be pretty cool! On top of that I went out yesterday to this pretty cool rock bar called the cherry tree or something, that was awesome. despite having probably the cheesiest rock / metal band playing.[ They were called something ridiculous like 'dont rape the cat' or something, with someone that looked like a f***ed up billy connelly on guitar(as if hed never left the glasgow docks), and alexi sale gone wrong singing. well. I say singing. Its hard to describe without making up another word, so im going to use contagilibulous. He was INCREDIBLY contagilibulous. Which was funny..

Anywys, Ive got 3mins of internet left, so i guess ill leave you guys for antoher few days!

Tuesday 29 June 2010

Melbourne -> all that s*3@. Part 2.

Then I chilled out here for a few days, then on sunday I cooked myself a roast dinner. Well, Id actually organised it so 9 people were going to come down, and I was cooking for them all. So i went out down the markets, and got a bucket load of food for no money, including 3k of beef (ive only just finished eating it all) for $9. Get in!

So anyways, I cook it all, then half the people at the hostel forget about it. The other half are feeling ill, so dont make it, and it turned out to be Me, Paul (Welland),and his girlfriend Phoebe having all this food! It was bloody good though. We had Beef, Roast Potatos, Carrots, Peas, Sweetcorn on the cob, home made gravy, and home-made yorkshire pudding. It was bloody gorgeous! Then we went and saw england have their a*** handed to them on a plate by germany at the football down the pub, and went home...

Apart from that Tonight im doing the open mic again, Tommorrow theres free cheese and wine (get in!) and then thats about all I have planned. Lol. ALL i have planned. Thats enough to last most people a month i think! :P

SEe you all later!
Chris

Melbourne -> one month in. (yeah. I really have given in trying to find funny titles now. :P)

Hey, just thought id give you another "quick" update, as its been bloody ages!

Again, ive not been up to a massive amount. Just working mainly..ive done a few bits. Just after the last blog (that would be the weekend, as i was demolished in the week), Ive just been mainly out throwing a few shapes (/ air guitarring / (ha!) Break-dancing) down a few pubs...

Last week was pretty cool though. Ive moved into a really cool new hostel in St Kilda, where they have a secure carpark, so i can now take my work car home, which is saving me about a million tonnes of hassle every day! It also means im even vaguely human in the evenings now, so ive actually been enjoying myself in the week...wooohoo! Especially as the have lots of free stuff here..

Tuesdays here they have an open mic night. Its pretty cool. They have a couple of guitars, a keyboard, and obviously a mic. Oh. And two buckets of free punch, and a shit load of nibbles. Yes. I know. Heaven! :P

So I got up, played a few songs (starting off with Fuck her gently, to break the ice as noone really knew me back then! This week im going to do faith I think! :P) And a few of my own songs. That was cool, Its a very musical hostel this one, so I got to know everyone there, which was good..

Then Wednesday I went out and met up with my friend Lara at The Little Creatures bar on Fitzroy St, brunswick. which is probably one of the only nice brewerys in Australia. Well, their bar anyways. It was a really nice place actually. It had a good atmosphere, so we started off in there, then went over to this other bar, which has $4 pizzas mon-thu. I had a prawn and lemon one, which was friggin' awesome. (and another beer). Then we ended up finishing off in some other bar which had some tramp in playing a bit of music, but with the most incredible soul-voice ever. Bizzare,. but bloody cool! It was a really nice night!

Lol. unfortunately because i went to that, I ended missing the cross-dressing party at the hostel, and more free beer, but never mind! :P

Anyways, Im almost out of internet time, so im going to sign off and carry this on in another stage..

Saturday 12 June 2010

Melbourne. -> The quest for more comical titles. In fact, sod it. Think up your own, and insert here! (And THATS what she said)

Hey, its been a few weeks, so i thought id give you all an update. Its going to be a pretty short one, as ive mainly been working, and if i started going into that, then youd all be dying of boredom after 10 mins...

Basically, last friday I went out for 'one quiet drink' with a mate from the hostel in sydney, which turned out to be his last night in sydney. So i had a few more, then we all realised that this was going to cost a fortune. So we all brought a big bottle of Whisky to drink a bit round my mates mates house...My mate then poured us a few drinks. It turned out that we finished the bottle in 3 drinks.

So you can tell what kind of direction the night was going to take. I was pretty damn wasted. My mate Dan was prety damn wasted. His mate was totalled. So he took us out into the middle of bloody nowhere saying that there was 'the best club ever' there. Which turned out to be an abandoned office block. The only pub was a really dodgy looking place that looked a bit like Sandy Upper Schoolhall.

So suffice to say, we all went back. At which point Dans mate passed out, and that was that. So me and Dan jumped out on Brunswick street. We ended up at a really cool club. It had a really cool funk soul band playing until god knows what time, then after that it played old school rap. It was pretty damn awesome.

So on the saturday I was pretty much dead, but did get to the Moving Picture Museum later on, which was really cool. They had all sorts of stuff. Like a place where it drew cartoons on your shadow when you moved, and talked etc. Old school projectors in smoke filled rooms making some really really cool patterns etc. AND it had every make of console / computer, marking the rise of video games. So from the ZX spectrum / the 1st one. where you could play pong, to Commodore 64's to Amstrads etc. and you could play all these old school computer games. Which was pretty cool, if not more than a little geeky! :P

Then on the sunday I went to have a look at a few houses (WAY too expensive) then met up with my mate Lior for a beer at this really cool bar. Bar open i think it was cool. It was like a grungy bar downstairs, and had some bands on upstairs. So we headed up, to see what was on. Turned out to be the worst, yet Funniest band Ive EVER seen. It was halarious!

It was billed as a 21 peice All girl (all rock) band. So we figured that even if the music was s*** then we'd have something good to look at! :) So were watching them, thinking 'how the hell are they going to pull this off?' . I mean, they had eveything. 3 guitars. a bass. 2 drum kits, accordians, violins, chellos, glockenspeils. everything.

So everything goes quiet. They get counted in. Then EVERYONE just plays theyre own peice of music. Something completely different. So what you have is a wall of dischord. While this..erm. Music? is going on, one woman is just saying, in a dead tone 'you are lucky. YOU are lucky. you are. lucky.'. WHILST shes doing this, this other woman is just WAILING at the top of her lungs. AIIIIEEEEEEYYYYYA AIIIIIIIEEEEE AIIIIIEEEEEYYYYAAA'. Me and Lior just looked at each other and burst out laughing. It was the funniest thing ive ever seen. They finished one song. Didnt have another, so just did the same thing again slightly higher...

It was almost as good as the crazy old dude on the fiddle at last years winterwell festival. But not quite. :P

Then on the wednesday, I met up with Paul (Welland) and grabbed a vietnamese meal at this place. $8, and you had a soup, and you could just put all this stuff in it. Whatever you wanted. IT was pretty cool, really filling, and a really good night!

This weekend obviously its all about the football. World cup starts, so im watching the game at 4am this morning in the bar downstairs. Before that I might go around a few bars tonight. The great thing about Melbourne is you have all these really cool little side streets. And in them you have all these doorways, and you head through them and theres these really really nice bars / coffee shops / resteraunts etc.

So i might head over to some of them. in other news, Ive found another hostel with secure parking for my work car, and also an open mic night etc downstairs, over in St Kilda. So I might book myself in there. It sounds pretty damn musical AND i wont have to get the sodding train every morning either. I dont know how people put up with commuting. IVe done it for 3 weeks, and thats it. IVe had enough,.

Anyways, thats about it so far. Ill keep you guys posted. Ha. How short was THAT post? :P

Saturday 29 May 2010

Melbourne.- Return of the Jedi

Hey. Heres where the blogs are probably going to get a little dull for a while, on account of selling a large chunk of my soul to Obriens Glass to get a bit of money together. Hence the random titles. Im trying to keep you all entertained! :)

Last sunday, I just went down to St Kilda on the tram, and as the weather was nice, I took a walk along the beach to Albert Park, then went back, and found the hostel im staying in at the moment...

Stayed at the hostel. Ive been completely demolished from the 6am starts, so after getting home from work around 5ish, im into full zombie mode..I just sort of collapse in front of the TV, and thats it really. Saying that, im getting slightly better. Perhaps after 6 months, i might even be used to it! :)

Then this weekend, I went out with a few blokes from the hostel on the friday night. One of them fed me copious amounts of southern comfort, as id given him 2 bottles of beer, which i think is a fair swap! :P Went over to a place called Cookies, which was pretty good. There was a whole jazz theme going on, and some ver' nice looking leh-diys! Then went to a jazz club. Then went home, and woke up yesterday with the world still spinning.

So that was a fairly quiet day. I just took a walk around town, went around federation square. Watched some bloke trying to do juggling on a unicycle he'd only just bought, and couldnt use. Which was pretty damn funny 'AND NOW! IM GOING TO RIDE OVER TO xxxxx AND JUGGLE THE KNIVES!' 'oooooh' '.......long pause, and then: 'Erm. Maybe its better if you could come over to me please'.

Then in the evening, I met up with my mate from school, Paul Welland. We grabbed a few beers, and then went over to see an AFL (Aussie Rules Football match), over at the Etihad stadium, which was pretty good. After being well annoying for the 1st 3/4 of the game (so whats he doing there? Why are they doing that? How is that a goal? Whos he? etc etc) , I finally got the hang of it, and was getting into it!

It was really good to see paul again too, so all in all, a very good evening! Lol. He also came up with the best idea ever. Him and his mates are doing thier own 'Come Dine With Me' amongst themselves, with prize money, and everything. Which actually sounds like a good idea!

So that was good. Today im going to try and find another hostel. This ones alright, but a bit soul-less. Im also going to take a walk around victoria market. And thats about it really. Oh, and im going to put myself into the draw to get tickets to the Ashes, which is pretty cool! Hopefully ill get them, because to join the barmy army at the MCG would be immense!

Anyways, thats it for the time being. See ya all later!

Melbourne

Woohoo! (ish) Finally made it to melbourne...I spent my last few days in Cairns relaxing. I didnt really have the money to do the reef after the nazi car company stealing all of my money. I DID however meet up with a friend from Sydney, which was pretty cool. Lol, it turned out that one of her friends was in the same hostel as me, and she knew pretty much everyone I Did, which was quite weird..Almost as weird as their digeridoo competition!

There was an awesome band playing on the friday too in the town centre, just randomly. And fire jugglers, and random line-dancing groups. LOADS of stuff...It was quite cool to see!

...im also going to stop at this point, and say that the reason my sentances are less structured thajn a drunk hippo's first turd of the day are because ive just finished my 1st day at work. As such I am dead. As such I am exempt from such paltry things as punctuation, and sense.. :P It was cold and raining, and i was stuck in the branch, It was almost like I was back home again in england! :P

AAaanyways, I caught the flight down to melbourne on Saturday. Stayed at this fairly shit hostel, where the showers didnt work properly, and my room was 1/4 filled with psychotic Japanese. I rolled in at 130am to go to bed. The bloke woke up, so i was like 'sorry dude, hows it going? Im chris', where he leaps out of bed, pushes me in the chest and goes 'NO!'

So i was like 'erm. yes.
CRAZY JAP: ' 'NO! WRONG ROOM!'
'ME: no. Right room. Theres my stuff' mate'
CRAZY JAP: *pushes me again* 'NO!! WRONG ROOM! FOR ME! THERES 3 OF US HERE!'

Now at this point im getting quite annoyed, because im tired, ive been flying for 4-5 hours, and i just want to sleep. But at the same time I didnt quite know how to handle the situation. I mean, I cant hit the bloke after only having spoke 10 words to him. Tempting though. In the end i settled for:

ME: 'Yeah. And four beds. That bed *points* is mine. Like THAT stuff *points* is mine. Now im going to bed..,'
C J: 'I said 3 people per room!! Why they no' Listen! 3 people!'

* get changed. Get into bed* THEN the bloke was like 'aaahhh. Sorry Sorry sorry! Not your fault. Sorry sorry! And then tries to chat to me..

Safe to say I got out of that hostel pretty sharpish! Im in another one now, right next to flinders street station for ease of getting to work, but Ill probably move on fairly sharpish. Its fairly soul-less here...I really want to move to St Kilda, but its really the wrong side of the city for work.

Im meeting up with Paul (Welland) on the weekend too..We're getting a few beers in, and then going to watch an Aussie Rules football match at the msg. Sounds pretty cool...Lol, sods law I come to visit him, and its the only week hes been sent away for a week! :P Ph well!

Other than that, ive got a few more 6am starts this week., Then im free for a few days. I bloody hate working! :P

Brisbane to Cairns. To bodly go where no. Erm. Possum? Has gone before...

Just a quick one, because far too many days have gone by without me writing this down, so im in danger of getting this forgotton about..

Started off in Brisbane, got the car sorted. Went to pick it up, QUITE hungover, but never mind! Grabbed the car, and they needed $2k for a bond. Which bloody cleared me out. So the trip was off to a bad start anyways! :P

So I drove from Brisbane to Rainbow beach. That was a nice place, met a few other travellers in the carpark, chatted with them, had dinner, chatted some more. Then after they went off to sleep in a side street, I wondered down to the beach, and was out there, lying on the beach, looking up at the most incredible star-scape (is that even a word??), playing a bit of guitar. It was absolutely magical...

Then after that, I went up to Inskip point, and set up camp on the beach on this free campsite, and slept there. That was tres cool..

The day after I did a 10 hour mission up to Emu Point / Yeppon, where I got lost half way through, and ended up on 20ks worth of dirt track, then booked myself into a hostel which was bloody welcome! I was so tired, i couldnt even remember my bloody name. It was well comfy though, and Emu Park had an incredible beach on too...

Unfortunately I missed out on the whitsundays, and Fraiser because of the robbing bastards at Travellers Autobahn, but never mind! Went to Airlie beach the next stop, then went up to a waterfall, which is the biggest in Queensland. It promised to be amazing, before it p******d down all night, and all the next day, so all I saw was a bloody load of cloud. GAY!!

Then I went from there up to Cairns, and found this real nice hostel. On the monday night I wont some free beer, and a Bunjee Swing thing, which was pretty cool. I took the free beers, and ended up giving away the bunjee swing today to a bloke call neals' gf, who wanted to do the jump that he'd won the previous week in a competition with him, but couldnt afford it..So I thought sod it, id give it away. Made thier day anyways, which is what matters, as i would have probably hated it.

Then today Ive just done a power tour around the Atherton Tablelands, walked around a bit, saw a few water falls, swam. Not bad, but the weather is a bit so so again today. Bloody place...

Then in the next few days ill probably just snorkel on the reef, because Id like to while im here...

Tuesday 11 May 2010

Woohoo! Stotty goes South. Eventually.

Just an update again...Ive been in Brisbane now for a few days. Its a really nice city here...I went on the ferry the other day up and down the river. Went for a walk along the river, grabbed a beer, then got the ferry back. That was quite nice...cheap too, which is always good! Apart from that ive just been mainly walking around. I went out in the valley, where all the clubs are for a night out with a few people who were driving down from cairns, who id met in the last hostel in Sydney on the friday night. And other than that ive been chillaxin' and relaxin' all cool! :)

Other than that Ive just been getting jobs. I had my interview on monday, which (obviously) I flew through, the lady seemed very impressed, and I noticed she kept putting '4's down on the paperwork, which is probably quite encouraging. I also had my medical today (lol. It was everything. A fitness test, An Alcahol test, A drugs test. Lung capacity. You'd think they were sending me into bloody space!). Passed that (ha, apparantly im fit an healthy..ill take thier word for it! ). So thats been good.

Now ive just hired a cheap stationwagon car (with a mattress in the back, and camping gear, as the camper relocation deals were taken up unfortunately) but I wanted to see the east coast anyways. so i thought 'sod it. im up here. Its going to be a pain to come back up here again. I might as well leave myself free for the south / west coast in the summer time [thats november / winter for you all you unlucky peeps in england!). Then Saturday im flying down from Cairns to Melbourne. Then ill have sunday to try and get my bearings, and then into work on the monday.. :( Damn not having limitless amounts of cash! :P

So yes. Its all good so far! Maybe in melbourne ill get myself a notepad computer and get these bloody photos uploaded properly, but we shall see!

East Side Mo-fo!

Hey, ive got to rush through this, as im on a library computer, and only have 20mins (well, 10 now) to do all my rambling...

Basically, Ive spent the last week or so travelling up from Sydney to Brisbane in a hire car. We decided to miss out on Coffs harbour in the end, and drove straight up to Byron Bay. The plan was we were going to stay there for a few days, spend a day in nimbin, and then go to brisbane.

Unfortunately, we got to Byron Bay at 10pm, after driving 500ks, and it was absolutely chucking it down, and didnt stop. So the next morning, we set out for a daytrip to Nimbin (this hippy comune place nearby) and had a bit of a drive around. Then stumbled across this Youth Hostel place, and fell in love.

This place had views right across the Nimbin Rocks themselves, and was set in the rainforest. It was absolutely magical. We ended up staying for 2 days in the end. There was plenty of walking to do, and also the stars at night...Ill show you some pictures eventually when i get them off my camera properly..

then after that We went straight into Brisbane...Its quite cool here. Ive been in a nice hostel near the Southbank of the river. I havent done a huge amount so far. I walked around a bit yesterday, and BROUGHT A NEW PAIR OF SHOES (That'll have a few of you in a dead faint! :)) and another pair of shorts.

I also finally got hold of the lady from Obriens, and im going for an interview on Monday, just so she knows I am who I say i am, and havent been Bull-s*****ing them, then im going down to Melbourne to work (apparantly they dont need me in brisbane anymore) Which is pretty damn cool.

Wrong side of the sodding country though..but yes. Thats good news, cos my money was starting to get a bit thin. So Yes. All good in the hood.

Anyweays, best log off. Ive got 2mins left!

Sunday 2 May 2010

Stotty does camping! (and NEARLY fails :P)

Woohoo! The first step of my trip up the coast is done!

Left Sydney. It was f***ing chucking it down. Still, We were all bailing so it wasnt too bad. We got the pimp mobile...a Suzuki Swift (3/4 packpackers worth of stuff in the back of one of them...you can probably imagine how fun that was! :P). Saying that though, its not a bad little car. Its certainly done the trick so far..

AAAANYWAYS, so we left up the coast to Newcastle, which was a bit so-so. Mainly because it was still raining, so we wondered around a bit, then left to go to this place called Melalewka's.

We arrived about 6ish, with the tent already set up by my mate Erline, who got there first. It was an arse of a journey, through terrential downpours etc, but we got there. And it was awesome. Erline, Floran (?), and a really nice australian couple, pete and possibly sharon had done us a BBQ, so we rocked up to free food, and a nice glass of win. Sorry. Goon. Get in! That was really good, and this couple were real nice and friendly too.

This park. Well. Ill fill you in on it a bit. Its a campsite, AND a hostel. (we were camping). its ALSO a nature reserve where wounded animals are nursed back to health, and let out in the wild. So i saw and got personal with a Koala, and also theres a pet Kangaroo that lives in the place, that you can go up and pet..it was fecking awesome!

But id got there in the dark. So after the BBQ we all went to bed, got in the tent. Where it promptly started to p*** it down. And continued to ALL night. By 430am EVERYTHING was soaked because the tent wasnt waterproofed properly, so the two girls Louisa and Stacey had enough and went to sleep in the Car. By 5am, and after 30mins of a constant drip on my forehead, i also left the tent. My Phone was in a puddle (and is still screwed), my IPOD and camera were ALSO in a puddle, but ive got them dried out. By Rucksack had been kicked against the side of the tent, so that, and everything in it was also soaked. Id forgotton my sleeping bag at the last hostel. And i was also sleeping in what was quickly becoming a stotty sized paddling pool, so everything I was wearing was soaked.

Went to the car, but there was NO room left in there (i know, amazing eh in a swift..), so went into the lounge area, found a sofa that was free for a whole 6seconds. Made a tea, found a heater, tried drying out a few clothes / phones / stottys. Failed. Went to sleep INCREDIBLY grumpy. Not helped because it was the new south wales Triathalon finals held in this place. And all the people kept coming in at 6am for breakfast, and leaving the fecking doors open. letting out all the head. Bloody people...Got a bit of a sleep. Then carried on. Luckily it brigtened up right at the end of the day, and has been great ever since. Where I saw the Koala, Kangaroo, Possom, and loads of other stuff..

Then in the evening, i gorged myself on free pizzas (the Triathaletes had ordered 100 pizzas, and were giving them away, theyd cooked a bbq, which they were giving away, and they were also giving away free beer. So i was WELL happy. And drunk. Drew the short straw though, because the bloke Erline from the last hostel was stayiung with had moved on, so she got the tent, and I had to sleep in the car. Which wasnt as bad as it sounded (i had a solid 8 hours of sleep due to my patented 'get drunk of as much free beer as possible' approach).

Then today we drove up to Port Maquarie, where Ive just arrived. The hostel seems pretty cool so far, although ive just arrived...and we found some really really nice places on the way, beaches etc. Tres good!

Tommorrow onto Coff Harbour..Ill keep you posted!

Sydney Southside!

Hey all!

Quick update...I amazingly woke up at 730am today. For like the first time EVER. Then after laying in bed for half an hour, got bored, and got up. I was faced with a horrible dilema with what id do for the rest of my day, because everyone knows that the mornings are filled with demons, and are REALLY best ignoring.. :P

Then one of the blokes in my room had a great idea. We were just chatting, and he was like 'hey! why dont you borrow my van (1970 bright yellow toyota Hi-ace called Trevor. VER cool). So i was like 'AWESOME! YES!'. But couldnt get it started. Well, I COULD just about get it started after 20mins of messing around, because you have to perform some sort of satanic ritual on it to get it going, and slaughter a goat. And a dingo. but THEN i realised that it had some strange stick shift system, and I really wasnt going to get the hang of that at 9am. It was stupid. 1st - 3rd and 2nd - 4th - reverse appeared to be EXACTLY the same gear..So i gave in. I had images of me stalling it in the middle of an intersection, and just having to leave it there because id ran out of goats and dingos to start the thing again... :P

So then i sat down with my tea, dejected. Before realising that Louisa, who im travelling up the coast with on friday got a cheap car from budget. So i tried them, and managed to blag a 3.0l Vauxhall Omega for $55 (it was supposed to be an astra, or whatever theyre called over here). Which was cool. But HUGE. And doesnt fit in the shity sydney streets (the lanes are about 1/2 the width of a car, and theres 3 of them). Still. It had a really good radio, and a really good rock station. And a jazz station. And an alt-country station...

So yes. Long story short I headed down the south coast. Out of syndey, down to Kiara, then I went across to a rainforest in...maybe minnamurra, then went back via a crazy mountain road, which would be AMAZING on a motorbike, with hairpin bends, and "Soft Edges" (which is polite Aussie for 'Sheer f***ing 200ft drop'). Then back into sydney. Got lost in sydney CBD for about 300 years, then came back home..

It was nice. The road i followed went STRAIGHT along the sea, so you had amazing views all the way along it, then i stopped at a pub in a village called scarborough for lunch, which had the most amazing view out the back of it, straight over the ocean. That was really nice...Then just carried on down, stopping here and there...

I nearly got trapped in the rain forest too...they close the national parks at 5pm. So theres me at 4.55pm doing about 100kph down essentially a farm track to get out out of there in time, because theyd already locked the footpath i was supposed to take, so i had to find a new way out, and climb over a few fences, and over a few 'DONT TREAD HERE. SPECIAL RAINFOREST' signs. Thanks guys! ..It was nice though. The mountains reminded me a bit of the lake district, but the flat-lands looked just like Devon...definately an improvement on sydney..

I dont like these stupid speed limits though. 100kph. YOU try making a 3.0 v6 0r v8 or whatever JUST do 100kph. you tapped the accelerator, and it was like BWAAAAAHHHHHHHHH'M DOING ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY HAHAHAHAHAGGGHH!.

So yes. Long story. Probably quite boring to read, but it was a really really nice day. I enjoyed myself...

Thursday 22 April 2010

*Sings* MOVING ON UP, IM MOVING ON UP...okay, okay! Ill stop!

Just a quick update. Ive finally made something vaguely resembeling a travel plan! I was going to stick around in Sydney, but i just want to see a bit of Australia, and not get stuck in one place. So im moving up to Brisbane..

Im heading off next friday with 2-3 girls from the hostel (score!! :p), and probably stopping off in Newcastle for Lunch / a chill out on the beach, then im heading onwards to. Well, eventually we'll stop in byron bay for a night or two, head on over to Nimbin, on the reccommendation of Debbie and Max, stay there for a bit, then head into Brisbane.

Then, once im there, theres a few people from the hostel here in Sydney (everyone seems to be migrating north) are going for a few nights on Fraiser Island, so im going to jump on the tour with them, and spend a few nights sleeping on the island. Which is going to be awesome. (lol, its going to be like one of those f*****d up american road-trip movies isnt it?? Me being the token black guy! :P)

THEN im going to work!

Monday 19 April 2010

WEEK 2 - AAAAND RELAX MKII :P

Forgot to mention yesterday that Ive had my 1st Roo steak! Mmm. Well, i did one with a peppercorn sauce, which was well nice. The 2nd one i mixed into a stirfry with 3 Thai Chillis, which nearly killed me!

The moral of this story, is never give Stotty 30 chillis for $1, and an oven. :P

On the upside it cleared my cold / hayfever / black death / whatever ive got! :P

Sunday 18 April 2010

WEEK 2 - AAAAAAAND relax!

BUSKING TIME -5mins. when bored
BUSKING $$$ - 30c.
TIME NEEDED UNTIL RICH - 2'000'000 years.

Hey, just updating you on my second week...Ive been a bit more chilled out this week. Doing a bit more job hunting, and less going out, because my bus pass expired, and im too lazy to fill it up again.

I met up with my friend for a bit of sushi for lunch on monday, grabbed my phone, which is a little obselete now, but never mind. I cant even use bloody Skype on it, because i need to download it. But it wont let me download, because im abroad. Stupid thing..walked back through the park, and just enjoyed the sunshine..

Was going to go down the beach the next day, but that went tits up, so ended up down another park with a some mates, few beers and a guitar. Playing a bit of football (England V Germany. England lost. Again. Sorry guys! :P). Got my 30c! :P

Then Saturday morning i went over to this other market (carrington fields market maybe??), which was cool. Plenty of free samples of crisps, and wine, and more wine, and cheese, and salsa. Mmm. Salsa. I just had to try real hard not to spend a fortune on stuff there!

Saturday night, I was well impressed, because i found Newtowns version of 'the bear', and stayed for a schooner or two. woohoo! I was starting to get rock-pub withdrawal symptoms! :) And the beer was well cheap (and horrible, but you cant complain too much when its only $4).

Then I went down to Paddys market yesterday, which is...well, its almost like a Chinese market. And it closes from mon-wed. So at half past 4 yesterday, i had to fight my way through a billion people, getting dollar boxes of vegetables (well, come on! A dollar? Its a bargain..). It was quite fun, but bloody exhausting. And now i have more vegetables than ill ever need in my life! I mean, what the hell am i going to do with a bag of lychees ($1). 30 chilli's ($1) some parsnips, and a bok choi?? :P

Just really getting into finding a whole job thing now. Ive had my few weeks chillaxing, now i suppose i best get my game on a bit! :P

Wednesday 14 April 2010

Woohoo! My first week! 11 months, and 3 weeks to go! (and 23p in which to do it!)

Woohoo! Ive just about made it through my first week. AND i havent spent ALL my money yet (although im giving it a good go! :P).

I spent a few days in Hong Kong, which were pretty cool, although bloody expensive! Went up to the peak on the tram, and had a pint and some food looking over the harbour while i ate my lunch. Then watched the lights come on on the waterfront, had a few beers (Few being the operative word, because they were like A$10 each) because my hostel in HKG was stupidly cheap. It was also stupidly small, with a bed that was only marginally more uncomfortable than the floor...You could swing a cat in there, but you'd really have to want to hurt the thing! :P

Then I went to the markets in Stanley, chilled out a bit. Got a fridge sticker that said 'You are my love. My Angle. Why you treat me like potato?'. Then went back to the airport to catch the plane. It was completely full, so i had to wait. Then at 11.10pm, (the gates closed at 11.30) they said i could catch the plane. So i had to bloody leg it across the whole of HKG airport. NOT fun...

Then got on the flight. Thought id be sensible here, and i decided to spend the entire flight watching movies, and refusing to sleep...God knows what i looked like walking through the Aussie customs. They let me straight in though! (Bwahahaha Fools!)

Then the past week Ive been chilling out in beaches, Chilling out in the parks. I took a walk around the art museum. And also, in the name of science. Tried the cheap wine here (its all so expensive. Everythings like $35-40 dollars. Its ridiculous! Im almost considering going againt every grain of my english heratage and stopping drinking! :p). Its called goon. Its $10 for 4 litres. and its certainly an experience...It doesnt taste bad. Its just the next day you end up feeling like you're wearing your body inside out, whilst an evil goon pixie-goblin p***es on you from a great hight. It almost puts you off the stuff, until you realise that its the only stuff you can afford! :) AND that all the other stuff is bloody fosters! :P

The hostel im staying in is bloody amazing. The people ive met are amazing, its in a really central spot (40mins walk to the city, and its right in Sydneys version of Camden). Its definately worth it. Ive just moved into a 6 person dorm, because it was $150 a week, as opposed to $450. And everyone here is pretty sound...So ill see how that goes. Lol, my next post'll probably be a 20min long rant! :P

Apart from that the only other thing ive done is thrown caution to the wind yesterday, and took $50 down a casino with a group of people from the hostel..I was going to go to bed, but I thought 'hell. Why not?' It was pretty good. I won $50 on a jackpot on one of the machines. But spent it all again a bit later. Im not that fussed about ever doing it again, but well. Youve gotta try these things at least once!

Other than that, ive got bored of waiting to hear from Autoglass, so ive applied for a few call centre type jobs which are close by, and pay well. Failing that, theres a warehouse job that i could go for, OR some sort of charity thing up on the job-board here.

Ive decided against buying a car straight off, and have decided to work and save the money for a car instead...Pictures'll be coming up soon, as SOON as I work out how the bloody hell to get them on here.

Oh I almost forgot. I FOUND ROO-MEAT! Im not entirely sure how im supposed to cook it. But ive got Roo Meat! Woohoo. Perhaps ill have it with my cheesy pasta / beans on toast. :P
